R03 is the third subject that makes up the Diploma in Financial Planning qualification available through the Chartered Insurance Institute. The examination is designed to last and hour and is comprised of 50 questions, 39 of which are multiple choice and 11 of which are multi response. There is some element of mathematical skill needed as there are tax calculations. However, they do not represent a large portion of the questions but you could make up lost marks by ensuring you fully understand how to complete the calculations. The syllabus topics are:
- Income Tax
- National Insurance
- Capital Gains tax
- Inheritance Tax
- Residence & Domicile
- Tax compliance
- Stamp Duties & VAT
- Taxation of investments
- Practical applications of tax and tax planning
The content on this part of our site provides some high level key facts pertaining to the syllabus along with some questions for each chapter.
