This course is the second subject in the Diploma in Financial Planning suite of products and is designed to provide you with knowledge on asset classes, risk and probability, measurement of risk and returns along with information about the macro economic climate. We will start with the client first, looking at their rationale for investing and how we can keep their investments on track to hit those objectives. We will then consider key investment principles and link that to the various assets classes and indirect investments that can be used.

A good understanding of mathematical formulae is essential for this course and we will cover this as well.

The syllabus areas covered are:

  • The asset classes: cash, fixed interest, equities and property
  • The macro-economic environment and its impact on asset classes
  • Investment theories and their limitations
  • Time value of money, standard deviation and measurement formulae
  • Indirect investments
  • The investment advice process
  • Investment planning principles
  • Measuring investment performance

The fee for support for R02 is £100 plus VAT and of course, as you would expect from New Dawn, we offer e mail support all the way throughout your studies.
